It has been quite a week. Last Tuesday we (Avril and me) went into the hospital so they could induce her. The baby was already around 8 lbs and the doctor was concerned about how much bigger he might get. Well the next day at 12:45 pm Jadon Ezekiel came into the world. He was 8 lbs 7 oz. and 21 inches long. We got home Friday evening expecting to have a nice long weekend at home with Jadon. That unfortunatly was not what happened.

On Sunday he had his first visit to the pediatrician. His weight was a bit low but they said that would be easy to remedy with some formula supplement. They also took some blood to measure his bilirubin level since he did look a bit jaundice. We got home from the appointment and about an hour later they called and said his bilirubin level was 19 (25 is dangerous) and that we would need to take him back into the hospital for treatment. That was not the news we were wanting to hear. It was pretty tough on us since we were already tired and it was a bit scary. We both were upset to varying degrees as we got stuff packed back up to go back to the hospital.

We spent a bit over 24 hours in the hospital. Jadon had to lay under some special lights the whole time and we needed to make sure that he got at least 45cc of food every 3 hours. We got home around 8pm Monday night.

Tuesday he had another appointment with the doctor and he is lookin good and gaining weight fast. I am so thankful for all the friends and family that were praying for us. God is so good. Even though we were having a tough time we knew His hand was in it. We are so overjoyed by this new little life that God has given to us to take care of. It is scary but we know that God will watch over us and always be there through the good and bad times.
